The long-suspected Pokemon Diamond and Pearl remakes have finally been officially announced for Pokemon Day on Pokemon‘s 25th anniversary. They will be launching under the titles Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Pokemon Shining Pearl.

Release Date

Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Pokemon Shining Pearl are set to launch in late 2021. We don’t have an exact date yet, but I would guess that they will time the release around or before the holidays, making the remakes a great Christmas gift.

Personally, I am not a fan of the chibi art style of the game. I don’t think it works that well. It’s a big shame because I think the in battle models, as well as the attack and Pokemon animations, look great.

Wrapping Up

I’m a huge Pokemon fan and have been playing since Red and Blue first came out. I always grab every new release despite what I say before the games come out, however, I do have to admit that Diamond and Pearl were not a huge favorite of mine. I know that a lot of the community loved it, so it’s great to be able to revisit Sinnoh on your Switch.

I’m sure the next few Nintendo Directs that we get will focus a ton on the remake, so be sure to look out for more information as it’s announced.
