Sonic the Hedgehog is joining the Minecraft world! I don’t know if anyone saw the newest Minecraft crossover DLC coming, but alas, everyone’s favorite hedgehogs are here in their glorious (or not so glorious) pixel form.
Sonic the Hedgehog
You can check out the official Sonic the Hedgehog DLC post here.
The DLC is available now in the Minecraft Marketplace in game.
The new Sonic DLC gives you a chance to relive your childhood ring-collecting day’s, but despite our current technological advances, in a blockier graphic style than its original release.
You’ll be able to play as Sonic, Knuckles, Shadow and more in this DLC which is incredible news for any die-hard Sonic fans.
As usual, unfortunately for all of Minecraft’s PC Java players, this will not be available to purchase and install, but I am sure it’s only a matter of time until a hedgehog-themed mod comes out.
You can check out the official trailer below.
Wrapping Up
While I thought the How to Train Your Dragon DLC crossover was out of the blue, I think Sonic takes the cake/chili dog here. This is probably the last crossover that I would have ever guessed, however still very exciting!
It’s awesome to see Mojang getting the rites from Sega to do a crossover of such a nostalgic and popular character, however. I will also give Mojang credit where it’s due and say that this texture pack really captures that nostalgic Sonic vibe you would get from firing up your Sega Genesis.
Will you be hopping into this DLC to get your fill of ring collecting? Are you a Sonic fan and excited about this new crossover? Let us know in the comments!
