So you’ve recently got into Minecraft, but aren’t quite sure how to enable cheats in Minecraft just like the ones you keep seeing on Youtube?
No judgment here! We’ve got you covered with exactly how to enable cheats in Minecraft Java Edition on PC.
How to Enable Cheats For a New World
This one is pretty straightforward, but maybe you missed it when you started up, or you thought at the time that you wouldn’t want cheats.
When creating your world, simply enable the “Allow Cheats” option. Doing so will allow the use of console commands, AKA cheats.
Now, let’s assume that you want to enable cheats in a world that you have cheats toggled off, but don’t want to lose your progress. Well, we’ve got you covered with a solution to that problem!
How to Enable Cheats For an Existing World
Fortunately, enabling cheats on an already existing single-player world is super straightforward.
You are going to want to press escape to open the games menu. From there, you want to click the “Open to LAN” button. This will bring you to the menu that lets you open your single-player world up to a LAN game.
From there, you can edit the world’s save mode for the LAN game as well as toggle cheats on. This will need to be done every time you close and re-enter the world, but thankfully it’s super easy to do!
And like that, you’re now able to use creative mode to your heart’s content. But first, you will need to familiarize yourself with all of the game’s console commands.
