Fortnite: Ripley and Xenomorph

As part of the Chapter 2, Season 5 addition of seemingly every pop culture character possible, Fornite takes things a step further and adds Ellen Ripley and a Xenomorph as character skins.

Ripley and Xenomorph Bundle

The Aliens themed bundle is currently available in Fortnite’s shop.

This bundle includes an Ellen Ripley skin, which features two distinct styles from her appearances in Alien and Aliens, a cat carrier back bling featuring Jonesy, a Xenomorph skin, a character specific back bling featuring the iconic alien bio-mechanical piping, and an alien specific emote.

This bundle is currently available now, and is on sale for 2,200 V-Bucks.

You can also purchase the Xenomorph and Ripley separately for 1,600, and 1,500 V-Bucks respectively.

Space Gear Bundle

There is also a Space Gear item bundle available.

This bundle includes a power arm harvesting tool and a Colonial Marines drop ship-themed glider, as well as a pinata chest-burster emote.

This bundle is also currently available in the shop for 1,500 V-Bucks.

Wrapping Up

I think this is an interesting bundle, although seeing a Xenomorph running around chugging Slurp and blasting at people with a shotgun is a bit ridiculous.

The other side to this is a concern for Fortnite’s future. The Marvel season was huge, and as a consequence of that, it seems like they’re really jumping the shark this season with licensed content that doesn’t always make thematic sense.

That said, I think Fortnite’s art style does a great job of adapting these characters, and I wonder what else will be coming in the game’s future.
